We are delighted to announce that the first recipient of this award is Jack Slade, Jack who is now a 3rd year apprentice, is completing his own fixes to a high standard and providing an excellent contribution to his team. He is currently working at Taylor Wimpey, Lyde Green, under Ben Garlands supervision.

We are extremely passionate about our apprenticeship scheme. Not only are we investing in the future of our apprentices but the future of the company for all of us.

Our Contracts Managers from New Build, Mark Miller and Laurence Boothman  noted that apprentices should be recognised for their progress, so they decided to launch The Apprentice Recognition Awards Scheme.  ARAS Awards!

The award will be made quarterly to any one of our apprentices that have shown us a significant improvement in their work or a fantastic contribution in their workplace.

We have a large number of apprentices with JeffWay now, and all Managers within Jeff Way will be monitoring their apprentices and giving feedback each quarter to see who is a worthy winner. Being nominated could be from passing exams, excelling onsite or showing improvement in whatever you are doing, whether you are a brand new 1st year or in the process of doing your AM2, everyone will be included and available for nomination.

The lucky winner also receives a £50 Voucher from WILTS  Electrical Wholesalers  to spend on tools of their choice.

Wapping Wharf art work installation

Posted in: Uncategorized   Date posted: 11 November 2016

The piece by Karsten Huneck is made from weathered steel, intricately cut into patterns and illuminated with energy-efficient LED lights.  The lights were  installed by our very own, James Stone and Mark Watkins with the support of Quinton Roberts designed by Hoare Lea lighting engineers.

Karsten’s installation is the first in a series of permanent commissions for the area.

He said: “We wanted to create an artwork that was integrated into the architecture of the site. The entrance and staircase help to create a new public space and the exposed column in the space reminded us of an old Victorian theatre.

“This inspired us to create an intricate ceiling using a traditional Victorian pattern which is lit from above with LED lighting to create a stunning, illuminated piece.”

Stuart Hatton, director at Umberslade, the developer behind Wapping Wharf, added: “I’m thrilled to see the new artwork now unveiled. It’s a striking visual piece that gives the new Wapping Wharf development a sense of individuality and a creative vibe.”
